How to get there
The best thing to remember is that the Central Trainstation is key, if you come from the airport, need to go to the campsite, the main venue or to get into town, you always pass the Central Train Station. The best thing to do is get to the train station and from there we have different options to get to your destination.
From the airport itself you should find a bus or metro that goes to the central train station. It will take about half hour to get there with public transport. (see picture below for reference)
I would advise everyone to leave the car at home and find another way to get to the trainstation, unless you stay on the campsite you can drive and park the car at the campsite (8 euro per night to park). To park in the city itself you will be driving around for at least half an hour to find a spot and it will cost you at least 25 euro per day, so avoid the car or leave it at the campsite for the weekend.
Once you reached the central station you have to locate the ferry at the back of the station. This is a free ferry and takes no more than 2 minutes to cross the channel. From there its a 15 minute straight walk to the campsite. If you dont like to walk than locate the metro at the bottom of the trainstation and ride for 2 stops (name of you stop is called: …) from here it’s a 5 minute walk to the campsite. (see picture for reference)
To get to the main venue we first make our way to the central trainstation. When at the front of the station it’s a 8 minute walk to the OBA. (see picture for reference). If you booked accomodation with us on the campsite than you got a spot in the shuttle that will take you from the campsite entrance to the oba entrance in the morning (8 am – 9 am) so don’t miss it!! More info on the shuttle will be given to you at early registration at the campsite on friday.
Tickets and Registration
There is no official ticket as some of you booked via eventbrite, some via paypal and others to the bank.. we decided to use the same system we used at our first convention. If you got a ticket that means you have acces to the campsite party on friday as well, here you can get to do an early registration so you can sleep in a bit longer and not have wait in line saterday morning.
We have a printed list of names + number of tickets. So make sure to double check under what name you booked your ticket. In case of issues it’s always a good idea to have a print of your payment (on paper or on your phone) or bring the eventbrite ticket (digital is ok) We havn’t had any issues last year and don’t expect them this year. Didi will be the one to look for to get your wristband, she will be on campsite location at 18:30h and at registration desk at the OBA from 8 am. You will receive a paper wristband for the main event on Saterday, we ask that you wear it on entry and make sure it’s visible for our team to see when walking in the venue. Thank you!
If you have booked accomodation, go to the registration desk on the campsite and just give them your name(s) and mention its for the FE convention. Don’t forget the campsite will ask for you ID or passport. The key of the cabin will be held at the registration desk of the campsite, when you go out all people in the cabin will get a plastic card and the first one back on campsite can get the key by turning in the card. This way everyone should always be able to have acces to their cabin at all times. In case of any problems, please come talk to Didi or Gary.
Campsite: the campsite has a little store and restaurant. It has a couple of veggy options as well but is not the greatest! Within 5 minute walk you can also find a supermarket.
OBA Venue: the venue has a wonderfull restaurant on the same floor as the convention. It has loads of veggy, vegan and bio options. Not to expensive and delicicious i highly recommend trying it. If you want something more simple, next to the OBA builing you will find small sandwich bar and coffee houses, even a starbucks at end of the street.
I also recommend the central train station, it is filled with great little restaurants, bakkery and even a supermarket. If you pass the train station, have a look around!
From the trainstation it’s about a ten minute walk south to the city centre, which is also filled with shops and restaurants.
Your cabin will open at 15 pm on arrival day and you need to give the key back no later than 11 am on leaving day.
Accomodation includes: Bunkbed with matras, Pillow, Sleeping Bag, Showers, Wifi
